Privacy Policy
We keep this simple and honest. Here is exactly what we do with your information when you order from us.
Who we are
DE Craft Studio is a small, independent South African gift studio. We are not a registered business entity. We make ready-made and personalised gifts and ship them nationwide across South Africa.

What information we collect
When you place an order, we collect the following:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (used for WhatsApp contact if needed)
- Your delivery address
- Any photos or personalisation details you upload for your order
We do not collect payment card or banking details. All payments are handled securely by PayFast, and we never see or store your payment information.
How we use your information
We use your email address only to send you order confirmations and updates, such as dispatch notifications and tracking details. We do not send marketing emails.
We contact you on WhatsApp only when we need additional information about your order. For example, if an uploaded image is too low-resolution for a quality print, or if we need to clarify your personalisation details before we start production.
Delivery address
Your delivery address is shared with our courier partners (The Courier Guy and PAXI) solely for the purpose of delivering your order.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- We do not use your contact details for marketing or promotions.
- We do not share your order details with any third party other than our couriers and PayFast, and only to fulfil your order.
How long we keep your information
We retain your order details for as long as is reasonably necessary to handle any queries, returns, or reprints related to your order. If you would like your information removed, contact us and we will do so where possible.
If you start a cart or checkout and do not finish paying, we may store the products in that cart, the cart value, how far you got, and your name, email, or phone number only if you typed them. We keep those details for up to 90 days to understand incomplete orders. We do not use them for marketing.
Your rights under POPIA
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to how we use your information

Cookies
Our website uses a cart cookie to remember the gifts you add before checkout. This cookie is stored only in your browser, lasts up to 7 days, and contains no personal information such as your name or payment details. It is removed when you complete checkout or when the cart expires.
We also use the Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) to understand how people use the shop and to measure advertising on Facebook and Instagram. That pixel may set advertising cookies and send Meta information such as the pages you visit, products you view, items you add to your cart, and whether you complete checkout. We do not send your payment details to Meta.
